Application Requirements
Diploma:
BSc.- or equivalent in the field of materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry or other materials science or engineering related studies (3 year minimum study period). You can apply even if you will not have finished your studies within our application deadline. In this case, you must submit an official document stating that you are a currently enrolled student and participating in your last year of studies. The document must be issued through and signed by a representative of the Academic Registrar’s Office, the Examinations Office or equivalent. Signatures from other staff members, such as teachers/professors, will not be accepted.
Language knowledge: Very good language knowledge of the Entrance University is a requirement for applying. It is an advantage if you have also (at least some) knowledge of the language of the second university. In any case, we recommend to upload certificates of all languages that you know.
Note:
All documents can be uploaded in any language of the consortium, which are English, Spanish, French, Italian and German. Documents in any other language have to be translated into English (or the language of the Entrance University).
Specific documents and language requirements
Each university may have specific requirements regarding the application procedure. Moreover, there are different language knowledge requirements depending on the selected entrance universities, which must be demonstrated with adequate language test certificates. These requirements are listed here:

Academic Documents: if your degree was awarded in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, or the USA, your official transcript must be sent per post from your university to the LTU (to: Pia Åkerfeldt, Luleå tekniska universitet – 97187 Luleå, Sweden or Linn Berglund, Luleå tekniska universitet – 97187 Luleå, Sweden). Students from Pakistan must certify their academic documents with a HEC stamp!
Language knowledge: English language knowledge at B2 level is requested and has to be demonstrated by any of the following tests. This is a requirement also for when MUL is selected as Second University!

Academic Documents: the Austrian consulate requests an apostille on the degree certificate. If your degree was awarded in Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, or the USA, your official transcript must be shown at your arrival to the MUL. Students from Pakistan must certify their academic documents with a HEC stamp!
Students who decide to study at Montanuniversität Leoben and are accepted into the programme have to apply for a visa (for stays up to 6 months = 1 semester) or a student residence permit (for stays longer than 6 months) at the competent Austrian representation authority in their country of residence. For the application for a student residence permit, legalised (or apostilled) documents must be submitted. Therefore, please find out early enough which documents have to be legalised and which kind of legalisation you will need. Please also note that legalisation and application procedures can take several weeks.

Language: German language knowledge at B1 level is requested in order to select UdS as entrance university and has to be demonstrated by any of the following tests.

Special regulations for students from China:
To be fulfilled (highly recommended): The German Embassy in China offers a service to all students who wish to study in Germany. A student is welcome to make an appointment at the embassy in order to check that their documents (diploma, transcript of records, etc.) are complete and authentic. Furthermore, you will have the chance to prove your language knowledge in a short interview. Applicants who choose to accept this offer will have better chances in the selection process. If candidates can prove that the official study language in their bachelor was French, the DELF certificate is not necessary for the application.
