The participation costs for the AMASE Master Programme vary depending on your nationality and whether your home country is part of the EU or not.

The following costs are included in the participation costs and can be reimbursed for all students in case they have to pay for it in advance (few exceptions):
- Local registration fees (Note: registration fees, in case they are applicable, are only paid for the university the student is currently studying at!)
*From summer semester 2025 onwards, due to a new university policy, the registration fees at UdS must be paid by the student in a separate transfer, which can be reimbursed afterward after submiting the request to EUSMAT. However, all AMASE students at Saarland University are exempt from an extra administrative charge (Verwaltungskostenbeitrag) within the registration (semester) fee. - Costs for the Integration Week and Professional Summer School (accommodation, meals, excursions, workshops, etc.)
- Travel allowance (only for self-financers). With reimbursement after submitting invoice and official form (From Saarbrücken to UL max. 30 €; to UPC, MUL or UniPD max. 100 €; to LTU max. 200 €).
To get a reimbursement, please download the reimbursement document fill in your data, sign and send it (with proof of payment, which is compulsory) to office@eusmat.net. We will then hand it in to the financial department and they will make the transfer. In case there is no proof of payment, no reimbursement can be done.
Since there are NO Erasmus Mundus scholarships for intake 2026, the AMASE consortium will offer diverse funding opportunities for intake 2026. All students who have correctly completed their online application within the deadlines will be considered for the different scholarships. Limited places!
The offer will depend on the student’s country of birth (EU or non-EU), selected university combination and study path, and academic excellence and engagement. Students may receive scholarships or funding opportunities of different types in the same semester.
You can find the different scholarship schemas and possibilities in the following document.
Funding possibilities for AMASE students – intake 2026:
- AMASE scholarships – partial fee waiver or fee reduction from the AMASE participation fee each semester depending on university combination
- Erasmus+ scholarships – mobility grants for the stay at the second university
- DFH-PhD-Track – mobility grant provided by the Franco-German-University only in combination of UdS and UL, for the stay at the second university
- Student assistant position – offered by UdS and LTU in the 4th semester
- Thesis support – offered by UL and MUL in the 4th semester
- ORION Excellence scholarship – offered only by UL, limited to one place
This is a regular Erasmus+ funding which all students in Europe are eligible for by studying in another European country.
Although Erasmus+ is not equal to a full-scholarship, it is a mobility allowance which will help you cover some of your costs abroad. The amount depends on each country and varies between 300 – 600 € per month.
With this mobility allowance you may receive funding for your second year in AMASE, so the time you study at your Second University. In order to be eligible for said funding, you will have to apply for Erasmus+ at your Entrance University during the first year. Please contact the respective international office for more detailed information during your first semester.
Depending on your first university and where you are going to in your second year, please check the Erasmus+ information:
- First university at UdS, going in second year to UL, MUL, UNIPD, or LTU = 600€ per month; to UPC = 540€ per month. Posibility of additional 250€/month, more information here.
- First university at MUL, going in second year to UdS, UL, or UPC = 470€ per month.
- First university at UL
- First university at UNIPD, going in second year to UL, UdS = 350€ per month; to UPC 300€ per month.
- First university at UPC
- First university at LTU
If you study in combination with UL-UdS or UdS-UL, you will be eligible for funding via the Franco-German-University (Deutsch-Französische Hochschule, DFH).
Funding amounts to 300€ per month for a maximum duration of 10 months, during your stay at the second university.
To apply please conact your AMASE local coordinator of your Entrance University during the first semester.
Example: You study at UdS for your first year. You cannot get DFH funding during this first year. Then, you move to UL for the second year. Now you receive DFH funding over 300 € per month (max. 10 months). The same works vice versa.
All payments of the participation costs for AMASE and the deposit for the Integration Week have to be transferred to UdS, because Saarland University is the coordinating institution.
The fees are to be paid before the beginning of each semester. Please note that you will not get your degree unless all costs have been paid.
Please transfer the participation costs to the following account:
| Account holder: | Universitaet des Saarlandes |
| City: | Saarbruecken |
| Country: | Germany |
| IBAN: | DE19 5919 0000 0000 3300 00 |
| BIC: | SABADE5S |
| Subject: | Name of the Student, date of birth, AMASE – W515110501 |
For an overview of what your fees are spent on, see here: Structure of the participation costs.
Case A:
Once you have obtained all required ECTS points after 4 semesters and ONLY the Master’s Thesis, or internship or the B2 proof of German (if Saarland University is one of your institutions) are missing, you may study one additional semester without paying the complete AMASE participation costs, but you still have to pay the re-registration local fees (please contact EUSMAT office for more information).
Please note, in case you do not need to pay the AMASE participation/tuition costs for your extra semester, you will not be able to get a reimbursement of semester fees and the health insurance.
Attention!
If UdS and/or MUL is one of your universities, you must re-register again every semester until you have finished everything (including master’s thesis, B2 certificate, and internship). For all additional semesters, after the 4 semesters of the regular time, you must still re-register again every semester at both UdS and MUL, and pay the required local semester fees until you finish all the requirements (including Master’s thesis, internship, and B2 German certificate) and until the Prüfungssekretariat confirms that you have completed them!
Case B:
In case you still have to obtain credit points (retake courses or exams) after 4 semesters, you will have to re-register again and pay the regular AMASE participation/tuition costs (complete or partialy, please contact EUSMAT office for further information).
Self-financing students have to pay a deposit of 200 € until July 1st of the respective year for the Integration Week.
This deposit will be used as a commission for the Integration Week and is considered a part of the participation fees.
Since rooms have to be reserved and paid by the end of June, this deposit is raised as a guarantee that you will join both the Programme and the Integration Week.
So if you have transferred the deposit and pay the rest of the fees, please subtract these 200 €.
Example: You come from outside the EU, the fees are 4.500 € per semester for you.
1. You make one transfer of 200 € until July 1st. Then you make a second payment of 4.300 € until 31 of July (*LTU before 1st of May).
2. Or you pay the whole fees of 4.500 € in one transfer until July 1st (*LTU before 1st of May).
Only if the transfer is made on time (before July 1st), we will make a reservation for you in the hostel.
Should you not be able to join the programme on short notice, but have already paid the deposit, we cannot reimburse these 200 €.
