Erasmus+ Cooperation with Argentina

The cooperation between Saarland University with universities in Argentina takes place in the frame of the Regional Partnership with Latin America (Region 10) and is based on a long lasting history of cooperations between EUSMAT and argentinean institutions.

The thematic focus are Sustainable Technologies (ST) and Circular Economy (CE), which are key drivers of modern societies. While traditional industry focused mainly on efficiency, cost, and safety, CE shifts the perspective to repairability, reuse, and long-term resource value. Sustainability builds on three pillars – environment, economy, and society – and requires global cooperation.

Germany and Argentina bring complementary strengths: Germany has long-standing expertise in waste management and renewable energy, while Argentina is advancing its energy transition and holds vital raw materials such as lithium. Together, they offer great potential for innovation in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and circular materials. Education and training in ST and CE therefore open excellent career opportunities for the future.

During the project duration (01.08.2025 – 31.08.2028) a total of 7 mobilities between both countries will be realized. The institute in Germany is Saarland University, while the partner universities in Argentina are:

  • Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Neuquén
  • Universidad Nacional de Córdoba
  • Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe
  • Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata
  • Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional Concepción del Uruguay

A call for applications for mobility opportunities will be published soon.
